Meet our Golf Coach
Introducing Sandy Jamieson
Sandy Jamieson coaches golf, has played professionally on the PGA circuit and has designed, developed and patented 1Club Golf.
His philosophy is that anyone can play golf and his program, 1Club Golf, is an accessible and affordable introduction.
Teamed with Sandy and Golf Australia, Reach & Belong started our golf program for NDIS Participants in Melbourne in July 2021 at the Oakleigh Public Golf Course.
The program has gone from strength to strength. We now operate out of Oakleigh and other public golf courses. Through 1Club Golf, our players meet weekly for coaching, playing a round of golf and embracing community inclusion.
Our golf outing is all about strong social, community and recreation participation.
Our NDIS Golf Offering is well-supported
Reach & Belong’s NDIS Golf Lessons are supported by such groups as the Oakleigh Golf Club members group who welcome all abilities players. We have access to the Golf Australia Para Chair where a player can sit in the chair and be elevated into a standing position to take each shot.
There is nothing quite like being out on the golf course in the fresh air, hitting a round with friends, exercising without even knowing it and being in a beautiful environment amongst the trees, the course, local creeks and wildlife.
Participants become coaches
Through this innovative and exciting program, some players have been trained as Golf Australia accredited Community Coaches and are employed through Reach & Belong to coach other participants.
The strength of peer to peer coaching is very powerful and our coaches are proudly supported by 1Club Golf, Golf Australia and Reach & Belong.
